Trump Takes the Lead Over Biden for First Time in NBC Poll

(NationRise.com) – According to an NBC News poll, former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump has surpassed US President Joe Biden in a presidential poll for the first time in the history of the media outlet’s polling. The survey showed that Trump is currently leading the Democratic leader 46 percent to 44 percent. The poll also indicated that Republicans are leading Democrats on the congressional ballot 47 percent to 45 percent.

During an interview with “Meet the Press,” poll analyst Steve Kornacki told host Kristen Welker that the results shown in the survey were “unexpected” and “absolutely stunning.” He also said that the most “significant detail” of the result was that Trump had never led President Biden since the Democratic leader announced his candidacy for the Democratic primaries in 2019. Kornacki added that the president should be “worried” about these numbers.

In addition to the erosion of President Biden’s approval rating, which is currently at 40 percent, the poll showed that Vice President Kamala Harris’ approval rating is also at an all-time low at only 29 percent. The survey added that 63 percent of independent voters disapprove of President Biden’s job performance so far, with only 30 percent approving it.

NBC News reported that the catalyst for voters defecting away from Biden has been the armed conflict between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, which started on October 7. Since September, President Biden has fallen eight points on foreign policy approval and is now at 33 percent. The poll was conducted from November 10 to November 14, with 1,000 registered voters. NBC News pointed out that its survey has a 3.1 percent margin of error.

During an interview with the media outlet, Public Opinion Strategies pollster Bill McInturf explained that the survey published by NBC News was “stunning” because of the “massive impact” the war in Gaza is having on Biden.

On his Twitter account, Hart Research Associates pollster Jeff Horwitt wrote that the president is currently at the lowest point of his presidency. He added that the main reason behind it is the way so many Americans are looking at his actions on foreign policy.
