Symbols on the Dollar Bill and What They Mean

Symbols on the Dollar Bill and What They Mean

(NationRise.com) – Whether you’re a conspiracy theorist or simply a devoted dollar note enthusiast, you’ve certainly noticed some strange symbols on the $1 bill. This symbolism is in place for a reason and is not the product of coincidence. However, does this symbolism mean what we think it means? Do we really know what any of the images mean?

The Eagle

Ah yes, the Bald Eagle, America’s bird. You’ll notice that, on the dollar note, the eagle is holding 13 arrows in its left talon and an olive branch in its right. The 13 arrows are the arrows of war, and the olive branch, which also contains 13 leaves and 13 olives, represents peace. The eagle and the contents of its talons are to symbolize the balance between peace and war. Had enough of the number 13? Well, it should be noted that the stars above the eagle’s head are also numbered in 13, representing the 13 original colonies.

The Pyramid

Now, this is where conspiracy theorists love to criticize our currency, namely due to the All-Seeing Eye atop the pyramid. Some people believe it’s a symbol of none other than the Illuminati. However, it’s more likely that our Founding Fathers simply drew inspiration from the Eye of Horus in Egyptian mythology, but maybe that’s what “they” want us to believe.

The pyramid itself is a symbol of strength and the ability to withstand time, much like the pyramids in Egypt have done. Two Latin phrases can be found on the pyramid. The one at the top reads “Annuit Coeptis,” or “God has favored our undertaking.” The second feeds into Illuminati conspiracies with the words “Novus Ordo Seclorum,” which translates to “a new order of the ages.” Although it’s doubtful there’s any correlation with the New World Order, it certainly does strike one’s curiosity.

At the base of the pyramid is a sequence of letters. However, don’t attempt to say it out loud; it’s not a word. Instead, it’s a number — Roman Numerals to be exact. Once deciphered they read 1776, the year of our country’s founding.

Symbolism Solved

Whether you’re a conspiracy theorist or an armchair historian, you may have learned other interpretations of the images on our currency. Above are the real reasons as to why these symbols have been bestowed upon the US $1 bill. At least that’s what “they” want us to believe. For now, we must take it as it is, as there’s not much evidence pointing us in any other direction. Some people do claim money is the root of all evil; perhaps they’re onto something? Only time may tell, but for now, these are the meanings behind the symbolism we find on our dollar notes.
