Trump Receives Major Windfall Following Guilty Verdict

(NationRise.com) – The presidential campaign of former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump has raised more than $200 million since a Manhattan jury found him guilty of 34 criminal counts on May 30.

During an interview with Fox News, the former commander-in-chief’s son, Eric Trump, revealed the amount of money raised and explained it was the clearest example of how so many Americans support his father. He added that it showed how people believe that he’s the victim of a “witch hunt” whose primary goal is to destroy his political career a couple of months before the 2024 presidential election.

Eric Trump also revealed that the presidential campaign received nearly $80 million in small-dollar donations. He added that despite what the Democratic establishment wants to do with his father, he’ll be able to beat US President Joe Biden in the presidential election.

Some journalists revealed on social media that one of the main reasons Trump’s campaign surpassed the $200 million mark was Miriam Adelson, the wife of former casino maverick Sheldon Adelson. Political reporters said she has also been a Trump supporter and decided to donate $100 million to his presidential campaign right after the Manhattan jury’s verdict.

A couple of hours after the jury convicted Trump, his campaign said that the Republican Party’s central donation platform collapsed as a massive amount of people started to make donations. On Twitter, his presidential campaign thanked the supporters and called on all Republicans in the United States to “stay strong” and keep expressing their views. Some X (formerly Twitter) users also posted screenshots of WinRed, where the donation platform can be seen as completely crashed.

Political analysts have said that the verdict against Trump would probably increase his popularity among Republicans and even some independents who would see the conviction as politically motivated. One of these was Ben Shapiro, who even said that Trump is one of the few politicians whose popularity is never affected by scandals.
