Conservatives Fume as Media Goes Haywire With Trump Conspiracy

(NationRise.com) – Conservative public figures and GOP politicians took to social media to blast numerous mainstream media outlets for taking some comments that former President Donald Trump made at an Ohio rally out of context.

Some of the media outlets that were criticized were CBS, NBC, and Rolling Stone. They shared headlines about the Republican leader claiming that there would be a “bloodbath” in case he didn’t win the US presidential election. None of these outlets mentioned that Trump was specifically referring to the US automotive industry instead of the nation as a whole.

Many critics said that most of the mainstream media’s actions were another example of an “anti-Trump hoax.” The former commander-in-chief and presumptive GOP nominee made the comments while discussing the possibility of putting tariffs on cars made in China that Beijing wants to eventually sell to Americans.

Addressing Chinese President Xi Jinping during the rally, Trump said that it was unfair that Xi doesn’t hire Americans to manufacture the cars that China builds in Mexico. He then claimed that if he gets elected, he will put a “100% tariff” on every vehicle that comes across the border. Trump added that “it’s going to be a bloodbath” if he doesn’t win the election, as it would be difficult to stop China on the matter.

A couple of minutes after those comments, many media outlets titled their news about his rally in Ohio that the US would face a “bloodbath” if President Joe Biden wins the nomination, without elaborating further.

One of the first Republicans to condemn what many mainstream media outlets said was Trump’s campaign spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt. During an interview with NBC, she said that everyone knew that he was referring to the auto industry and its workers.

Twitter owner Elon Musk claimed that what some outlets did was “deceptive,” while US military veteran and conservative commentator Sean Parnell said that many are “pushing the bloodbath hoax.” Republican Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene also claimed that the Democratic Party and the media always lie “about what Trump says.”
