(NationRise.com) – The fate of a mother who viciously murdered two of her children and injured a third received her sentence on April 1st.
Amy Leann Hall, the 43-year-old mother of three from Okmulgee, OK, will spend the rest of her life in prison. Hall said the murders were out of mercy, claiming that she wanted to save them from their allegedly abusive dad. She and the victims’ father were legally separated and had spent two years fighting for custody of their children.
Hall had previously accused him of harming the children psychologically while claiming that he was mentally unstable. She filed for an emergency order to gain custody in 2016. Police had previously responded to multiple domestic dispute calls, but no one was ever taken into custody.
The murders occurred on November 1st, 2018. Hall began by entering the room of her 18-year-old son and shooting him in the head. He died immediately. She then walked into the room of her 16-year-old daughter, Kloee Toliver, and shot her in the head as well. Kloee immediately lost consciousness but didn’t die right away. She was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her brain dead. They worked to keep her alive long enough to harvest her organs for donation. She died soon after.
Hall then shot her 14-year-old daughter in the head, but the girl survived.
Hall also said she planned to kill herself, but her plans were interrupted when she drove away. A sheriff’s deputy who had already been dispatched saw her vehicle and attempted to pull her over. Hall then tried to flee, leading to a high-speed chase that exceeded 110 miles per hour. However, police managed to stop and arrest her after the chase lasted several miles.
Hall pleaded guilty to her crimes in November 2022. She was given two life sentences in a federal prison with no chance of parole. She was also given another 20 years for shooting her third daughter, who survived.
