Putin Threatens to Aid America’s Enemies

(NationRise.com) – On June 6, Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened the United States and every Western nation with supplying weapons to their geopolitical foes. During a meeting with international reporters at Saint Petersburg’s International Economic Forum, Putin said he “would be forced” to take such a step if Washington and NATO nations keep delivering long-range weapons and military equipment to Ukraine.

The Russian leader said that the numerous attacks allegedly carried out by the Ukrainian military using US weapons could lead to a “dangerous scenario” and “serious problems” between the superpowers. He also told reporters that if the US doesn’t stop delivering weapons to Ukraine, Russia will have the right to provide “the same type of weapons” to world regions where some military factions could execute “strikes” on US or European facilities. Putin added that Russia’s response could be “asymmetric.”

Russia’s Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev also told reporters that the “Yankees” and their European allies think they can help “Russia’s enemy,” but no one is legally able to “help Russia.” Medvedev, who was once the country’s prime minister and president, also told reporters that the US should feel the impact of Russian weapons used by “third parties.” When asked which countries Russia would deliver military equipment, Medvedev said that if a nation considers the US its enemy, it can also consider Russia “a reliable ally and a dear friend.”

Since Russia invaded Ukraine back in February 2022, the United States has been the main ally of the Ukrainian government and armed forces. The State Department even claimed in public statements that what the Kremlin did was an unjustified, unprovoked, and premeditated war that could cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocents.

According to a May 24 press release from the State Department, the United States has so far provided the Ukrainian military with nearly $52 billion in military equipment. Many experts have said that the aid could have political costs for the Biden administration.
