Messi's Son Joins Inter Miami Academy

(NationRise.com) – According to a report from The Sun, Lionel Messi’s 10-year-old son Thiago will join Inter Miami’s academy to officially become part of the team and franchise. The son of the soccer superstar will be part of the U-12 category, which the sons of other former soccer stars are also part of.

The Messi family is finally letting the youngster officially enter the soccer world after many years of watching his father play for Argentina’s national team, FC Barcelona, and Paris Saint Germain more recently. While different reports confirmed the story, it remains unclear when Thiago Messi would be starting to practice with the team or when his debut would be.

According to Argentina media outlet TyX, there’s a chance that, depending on the migration process, Thiago Messi could eventually represent the United States. However, the media outlet also claimed it would be a “tough choice” as the youngster Messi could also play not only for Argentina but also for Spain, as he was born in the Hospital Dexeus of Barcelona.

As reported by the Daily Mail, members of Inter Miami are “delighted” that the Messi family decided to let their son make his first steps in soccer in David Beckham’s team. The former British superstar bought the franchise in 2018, to turn this team not only into a major sporting franchise in Florida but also into one of the best soccer teams in the United States.

Messi’s signing for Inter Miami represented one of the most historic moments in soccer history, as Messi is considered one of the greatest players in the history of this sport. Messi arrived in Florida after a bittersweet season where he delivered a disappointing performance at Paris Saint Germain, but managed to win the World Cup with Argentina’s national after beating France in a memorable penalty shootout.

So far, Messi has shown an outstanding level in Major League Soccer, scoring 11 goals and delivering three assists in nine games.
